Like most firms, we care about how many chargeable hours our lawyers’ record. But unlike most law firms we don’t encourage our lawyers to work ever longer hours in order to maximise profitability. We just can’t square that with our desire to provide the best possible service to our clients at all times.
Instead, we encourage our lawyers to cap the number of chargeable hours they record each month. Of course, that isn’t always possible. If there’s urgent work to be done then you’ll often find us here before sunrise or long into the night. Sometimes both. But not every day, because we can’t give our clients our best selves that way.
And if that means that we make a little less profit in order to provide our clients with a better level of service, then that’s ok with us.
