“I’ve spent over 20 years working for insurers and protecting their interests, but started to ask who protects the interests of each insurance policyholder. Fenchurch Law seeks to level the playing field for policyholders and to represent them in insurance disputes. I was attracted to the firm due to its solid reputation built up over the last 10 years and see that my in-depth experience and knowledge of the insurance sector can be best applied as “poacher turned gamekeeper” to seek to safeguard the interests of insurance policyholders.”

Chris is a dual qualified Senior Associate Solicitor, working across our Financial & Commercial Risks; Product & Environmental Risks; Property Risks; and Professions Risks practice groups.

Chris completed a law and marketing degree at De Montfort University, Leicester and began an 8-year career in the insurance sector working firstly for one of the world’s leading insurers and then for an international loss adjuster. In 2004 he moved to New Zealand and completed post-graduate legal studies at Victoria University of Wellington and professional qualifications at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies. In 2006 he was admitted to the roll of Barristers and Solicitors of the High Court of New Zealand. Chris then practiced as a barrister and solicitor in Auckland, before re-qualifying as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 2012. Since then Chris has focused primarily on insurer-side disputes work, before joining Fenchurch Law in 2021.

In 2008 Chris qualified as an Accredited Mediator through the Civil Mediation Council, London.

He is a member of the British Insurance Law Association and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
